Parents Reaching Out (PRO)Grant 2019/2020
The Parents Reaching Out (PRO) Grants program provides funding to school boards to lead projects with a focus on the identification and removal of barriers that prevent parents and families from participating and engaging fully in their children's learning.
New for the 2019-2020 school year, the Ministry of Education has changed the Parents Reaching Out Grant application process. Previously, school councils applied directly to the Ministry of Education for funding. Going forward, the Ministry has provided an allocation to be distributed by school boards.
We are pleased to announce that the 2019-20 application process for Parents Reaching Out (PRO) Grant funding is now open! Please complete the electronic template provided below and submit the application for consideration by January 10, 2020.
KPRDSB has received $19,511.66 in Pro Grant Funding for the 2019-2020 year, and applications that meet the criteria are eligible for a maximum of $1,000.
These criteria support projects that work with parents or seek parent input on how schools can:
- Provide a safe and welcoming school environment;
- Maintain open communication with teachers;
- Respect parents as valued partners within the education system in relation to decisions about their child’s education; and,
- Inform parents about content within the Ontario Curriculum.
